Viglet Games presents
Spinhold is an arcade shooter flown around the outside of a spinning space colony. The machines that built it have turned on it, and they are taking it apart cube by cube, people included. You fly the last tender on the hull.
The world
The Spinhold is a cylinder kilometres long, turning in deep space. Down its axis runs the Sunline, the light that is its sun. The city on its hull is where you fly, one ring at a time.
Grown cell by cell by builder machines, generations ago. That is why the whole world is voxels: everything here was made from the same cubes.
The builders have woken up wrong. They still follow their oldest order, build the Spinhold, but they have lost the plan, so they break it down and rebuild it as more of themselves.
The colony’s people: hull crews, gunners, medics and engineers with no ship of their own. The Lattice carries them off because it thinks they are part of the hull that came loose.
Shoot a Gleaner and the Holder it was carrying falls back to the hull. Catch them, fly them through the Lift, and the colony’s core keeps them safe. Nothing grim is ever shown: a Holder the Lattice takes simply flickers out.
Know the Lattice
Every kind of Lattice glows in a colour of its own, so a crowded ring still reads at a glance. Each one is made of cubes, and each one breaks back into them.
The small swarm. Twenty at a time, chasing you round the ring.
Keeps its distance and fires slow, aimed shots.
Grows out of the hull and fires straight up.
Hovers, draws a line to you, then dives straight down it.
Crosses the ring without turning, dropping seeds that wait to burst.
Rises from the hull carrying a Holder. Reach the top and it is gone with them.
Its core shrugs off every hit until its weak points fall. Tap a card to see who runs each ring.
The tender
Tenders used to fly the hull fixing what the Lattice built. Yours is the last one flying, and it has three tricks for a crowded ring.
Hold it and the tender tears through the swarm untouchable, killing whatever it hits, until the meter runs dry.
A shockwave sent both ways round the whole ring, clearing every machine and every shot it meets.
Kills charge it. Full, the tender draws on the colony’s sun and fires it ahead for four slowed seconds.
Every kill raises the multiplier a step, all the way to ×99, and refills its window. Let two and a half seconds pass without one, or lose the tender, and it falls back to one.
Each delivery through the Lift pays the next thing on the list: a life, a pulse, a shield, then points that grow with every Holder you bring in at once. Save everyone in a ring and it pays a bonus.
Fly it
The colony seen end on, with your tender always on top. Shoot the Motes, knock Holders loose from the Gleaners, catch them and fly them through the green Lift. Five waves.
A gamepad works too. On a phone, drag to fly and the tender fires on its own. This is a web sample drawn in 2D from the game’s rules, not the game: no sound, no Lancers or Foremen, and none of the voxels.
Five waves. Keep the Holders out of the Lattice’s hands.
Screens
Every frame here is captured from the running build. The names on screen are still placeholders, and plenty will change before launch.
What’s next
The arcade game above is playable today. This is what is being built on top of it.
Deliver a Holder and choose one of three to join your tender. A gunner, a dock mechanic, a medic: each does their old job aboard, and two of them together can become something neither is alone.
Wren, the balanced one you fly today; Swift, light and fast; Bastion, slow and heavy.
Today’s shift, the same for every pilot, with one attempt that counts.
The Lattice learns from every shift it loses, and comes back sharper.
Couch co-op on one screen, and online through Steam Remote Play Together.
Unlocks add choices, never power. No shop, no loot boxes, one price.
“Nobody else gets left. Fly.”
